On the weekend, I accompanied my wife to the vegetable market to buy vegetables. Recently, the prices of fresh and tender vegetables have risen significantly.
My wife planned to buy some fennel to make dumplings and picked them one by one. The woman selling vegetables was unhappy and didn't allow her to pick like that. I quickly chimed in to support my wife: "Vegetables are so expensive now. How can we not pick them carefully? Each stalk costs a lot of money."
The woman selling vegetables glared at me and muttered in a low voice, "You are so careful when picking vegetables. Why didn't you pick your husband carefully? He's so plain-looking."
